Making money online is easy! There are so many ways to make money online it can be almost mind boggling. But where do you look? How do you know what’s worth your time and efforts, and what’s a scam? Are there things that you can do online to make money with no experience?
The answer is definitely yes. A few years ago, I was in the same boat. I
was desperate to find a few ways to make extra cash, and I had a feeling
there were things online that could get me there, but I didn’t know where to look. I found out pretty fast that there are a lot of scams to sift through, before you find the good stuff. Luckily, I eventually found dozens of places to make some good money online, that required no previous knowledge.
So check out the list!
These are the best ways to make money online with no experience.
This might sound pretty weird if it’s not something you’ve ever done, but you find gigs online that will pay you to listen to audio files, or watch videos, and type down what they say.
As long as you can listen to something, and type, you genuinely don’t need any extra experience to be successful with it. The faster you can type, the faster you’ll finish jobs, and the better rate of pay you’ll make. But other than that, there’s no special skill set required.
The best place to do this is on Rev.com. I signed up, did one practice transcription job (which took about 10 minutes), and submitted it. They
accepted me two weeks later, and now I transcribe audio and video
content often when I’ve got a big chunk of spare time. The pay is
decent, unless you take super long with each project. They’ll pay
anything from $0.35 to $0.60 per audio minute, on average. So if you’re
super slow, you might only be making $10 per hour, if you’re fast you
may make $30.
Give it a shot! It’s one of the easiest ways to make money online in
2. Teaching English to Chinese Students
My wife actually makes a full time living working for an awesome company
called VIPKid. VIPKid isn’t the easiest company to get a job with,
because they get lots of competitive applicants, and they DO require a
college degree of some kind, but they don’t require any teaching
My wife had plenty of experience with kids, and a college degree, but
not a smidgen of teaching experience. If you have the energy, the
patience, and the ability to communicate articulately, you’ll be a great
fit for VIPKid just like she was.
Pay averages around $19 per hour. My wife’s pay varies between $19 and
$22. And the job offers a ton of flexibility! Booking times are usually
best earlier in the morning, or in evenings because of time zone
differences, but you can work as much or as little as you want. This
works perfectly for her because she’s also a professional event
coordinator, and freelance artist.
If this sounds like something that could work for you, you can apply
3. Making Money Blogging/Affiliate Marketing
If you look for ways to make a lot of money online, you’ll inevitably
here about affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing isn’t like working a
job. It’s promoting links to different products and services that can
earn you commissions. Many people use social media to do this, but the
most effective long-term strategy to be successful at affiliate
marketing is to create a blog.
Making a website, and writing blog posts may sound like it would require
a lot of experience. Promoting a blog might also sound like something
for a professional marketer. I felt that way too, when I first started
out, but I joined a program/community called Wealthy Affiliate that made
it super easy.
I invested under $300 to get it for the year, and it gave me a program
that taught me how to do it, gave me a website that I barely had to do
anything more to, hosted my site, etc. etc. You can get the details of
how it worked for me right here on Young Retiree.
If you want to learn the basics of affiliate marketing, you can also
find the step by step guide right here. Hundreds of bloggers (after a
lot of work) are making 6 figure incomes, working part time hours.
It’s a lot easier than it sounds, and creating digital content online
(such as blogging), is one of the most lucrative investments that you
4. Apps, Surveys, and 1 Click Money Makers
Money earning apps, websites, and surveys may not be the best way to
make a full time living, but there are TONS of opportunities for micro
earning. You have to pick and choose carefully, because a lot of these
options are trash, but I make over $3,000 every year just by side
hustling with a few of these apps.
The best thing about apps that pay cash, and survey sites (as long as
you pick the good ones), is that it takes practically no time and effort
to make money. There are some of them that are even passive.
Pinecone Research pays $3 for every survey, even if they’re only a
couple minutes long. Swagbucks gives out hundreds of dollars to its
users just for trying free trials, or free products. Ebates and Ibotta
pay me cash back on stuff that I was buying anyway. There are over a
dozen great options.
Try them out to make some fast cash! If you can click buttons, or sign
up for a free trial, it doesn’t take any more experience than that.
5. User Testing
User Testing is one of the easiest ways to make money online. User
testing involves recording yourself scrolling and clicking through a
website, and basically doing a critique of the site. In most cases, the
client will ask you to do specific activities on the site to make sure
it’s user friendly. You just need to do the activity, and speak your
thoughts about it as you do.
It’s that easy.
There are a bunch of companies where you can get started with this kind
of work, and they all provide a software so that they can record your
screen as you do the test. The majority of them pay $10 for each 20
minute test (essentially, $30 per hour of testing). The only catch? They
are so easy, and popular to use that they often have to reject
applicants. Getting approved as one of their freelance recruits can be
Here are some of the best ones to try applying to:
– UserTesting (easily the best known)
The testing gigs come on a first come, first serve basis, so you’ll
want to keep your notifications on, your email open, and keep an eye
out. If you sign up for a bunch of different user testing sites, instead
of just one, you’ll also increase your opportunities for work.
6. Selling Physical Products Online
Selling physical products online sounds daunting, in theory. But because
of the zenith of dropshipping, starting up a physical products business
is easier, and less risky than ever. There’s a certain strategy to
dropshipping, which I wrote out a step by step guide to here, that is a
recipe for success.
Selling online, whether you’re building a Shopify store, or trying to
sell on marketplaces like Amazon and Ebay, is challenging. But it
doesn’t require that you have any experience to succeed. My first (and
only) Shopify store did $507 in sales within 10 hours of launching.
If can find a unique, or noteworthy product idea, great! Even that,
however, is easier than it sounds, as long as you’re targeting a very
specific group of passionate buyers.
There are hundreds of suppliers out there, which can arm you with all
you need to launch a popular product. Beyond that, it’s just a matter of
using the right strategies, and working hard.
These are just a few examples of how to make money online with no
experience. What are some of yours? Let me know in the comments below!
